Marko Fields was a long time supporter of Art To Change The World.
I called him our Renaissance Man and it was only a little bit tongue -in-cheek. His clay work, his music, his cartoons, Mojos! and his educational teaching experience all contributed to the phenomenon which was Marko. We always had so much fun riffing our sardonic witty repartee. He will be missed by me both personally and professionally.

In loving memory of Roxane Gudeman
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, colleague, Roxane was also our much loved and valued book club member for decades. To know Roxane was to benefit from her kindness, curiosity, and knowledge and the example she set of taking this one life and its potential seriously. She was a talented artist and photographer and deeply engaged with issues critical to the well-being of the world, now and in the future. She was a boon to our book club and she will be deeply missed.
On March 7, 2024, we bid farewell to Eugene William Parker.
Eugene holds a special place in the hearts of the Art to Change the World (ACW) community, as the father of one of our founding members, Catherine Palmer. His legacy lives on through his daughter’s dedication to creating positive change through art.
Katie, Eugene’s daughter and the youngest of his fifteen children, fondly remembers her father’s love for painting and gardening.
In honor of Eugene’s memory, members of the ACW community came together to donate $200 in his name. Barbara Bridges, Kelly Frankenberg, Layl McDill, Josh Blanc, Candy Kuehn, and Rebecca David, along with others, contributed to this heartfelt tribute.

Gratitudes to My Mother – From Barbara Bridges
You made everything “nice”. Your birthday parties, prom dresses, invitations, murals on my bedroom walls, holiday festivities, camping trips etc. always went above and beyond. You made extraordinary efforts to create special experiences. This modeling definitely influenced who I became. If I am going to give my time to any effort, I am driven to make it a special experience.
You taught me to cook.
You let me make god-awful messes with my projects.
You never raised your voices or showed any extreme emotion in front of me or in my earshot. This is good policy when raising children.
You sent me to a school where high academic performance was demanded. Although not always pleasant, that foundation has served me well throughout my life. Interestingly, as I moved about the world during my academic years, I took an informal poll of other professors. Over ¾ of them had Catholic school in their history. I have many issues with the Catholic church but I think I turned out to be a very moral and principled person. They must have had something to do with that outcome. The fact I sent my own children to a Benedictine monastery for high school certainly says it all. The fact that you sent me there in a taxi I am sure you could ill afford did not escape my notice. Thank you for my intellectual foundation.
Thank you for sending me to the nursery school with the twins in the polka dot dresses. Who went to nursery school in those days? Thank you for sending me to the dancing lessons and the piano lessons. Thank you for taking me to Boston to museums. Thank you for paying for me to go skiing. All these experiences helped me learn how to operate in the world of the ruling elite. As I meet with millionaires and billionaires to raise money for my foundation, it is an asset to know how to speak and dress. My mid-west lobster feed and all the special details I include are the talk of Minneapolis.
Finally, thank you for teaching me to write “Thank You” notes. I make all the members of Art to Change the World do this. In the mail. People who show you a kindness deserve to know you appreciated that kindness. Thank You, Mom.
