Art To Change the World is committed to building community. We have embraced the concept of inviting the viewer into our creative process by deconstructing our intent in an Art WORK statement. This is different from an ARTIST statement but may also include biographical information. Our commitment to this policy flies in the face of the other end of the philosophical continuum who believe that “The art speaks for itself.” This is fine as long as the viewer speaks the language of art – which 95% of our neighbors do not. We suggest the viewer draws their own personal connections to the work they see first and then read the artist’s intent. This approach educates and honors the viewer.
Our ACW Mission: Art to Change the World (ACW) is a diverse non-profit coalition of change makers employing the arts in service of positive social change. We are a 501(c)3 organization overseen by a ten person board of directors.
Positive social change is achieved by providing opportunities for our community (including us!) to question their own belief systems.

FOXY LADY
Barbara Rogers Bridges
2025
5’ T x 18” W
This work was created to document and honor the over half a century when the green-eyed Foxy Lady, Linda Fox, has been living quite the life. Sailboats played a big part over several decades as she crewed and cooked for KISS and the Rolling Stones and captained her own boat, Vain Lady. Willie Nelson, John Wayne and Pablo Escobar were a few of her notable acquaintances.. She helped Por Los Niños with cooking school and was featured in Gourmet Magazine. Ask her about Playa Cocos Beach. Linda’s beloved pets, Bambi and Chuleta have found their final resting place on Foxy Lady which is perfect when considering Linds’s fascination with Day of the Dead. Since 2010 she has been living her best life which includes competing at the bridge table.
It was an incredible experience to walk through five decades of memories with Linda. I hope this will be the first of many tributes like this.
This artwork uses a “distressing” technique to suggest antiquity.
Interaction. Find Foxy Challenge. Win a Foxy Lady prize if you come closest to guessing how many foxies appear on the sculpture.
