Lily graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. After this amazing experience, she taught English in Japan for three years. Following a world tour and eventually landing in Minneapolis, Lily attended Dunwoody College of Technology and then worked as a car mechanic for the next 13 years at area dealerships. After this, she launched into the rewarding life of mothering three beautiful children, twins and a son—now on their own and thriving. Lily went back to school and worked fulltime as a technical writer, heading the Twin Cities Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. She holds a masters in Technical Communication from Metropolitan State University.
Hopes and Dreams
Newly retired, happily pursuing projects put on hold in years past, Lily is open to engaging in all things creative and practical. What is social justice after all? It is the awareness people come to, and the actions they take, when art captures everyday life. That is art at its best, being both creative and practical, timely and bold. Lily fully supports the mission of Art to Change the World, and hopes for its continued success.
Repair Consultant
Available as a car repair advisor---as a humanitarian courtesy—Lily can aid in your stressful decision-making when your car is making a funny noise or you want to be informed going into a shop repair. For example, if she is given the year, make and model, mileage, and repair history of your vehicle, she can help you determine whether it’s worth saving or it’s time for a new vehicle. Lily is not affiliated with any shops or tow services; she only does this because she is interested in the human-to-machine connection (the intersection of art and science) we all must navigate in this world. Honestly, getting your car fixed can be a regular crisis, one which Lily can assuage so that you can refocus on the art of living.
Resume Crafting
Like it or not, it’s a working world out there. If you are applying for a job, Lily would be happy to edit and format your draft or revise your existing resume. AI processing is real, and LinkedIn is corrupted, but employers still need to know what you have to offer. Lily considers this editing to be a hobby that needs no more than a thank you when all is said and done.
