Biography

Adam J Scarborough (he/him) is an artist from Bonnie Scotland, UK, making a new home in Minnesota. In the past he has worked across various roles within arts organizations and on numerous artistic projects spanning the UK, USA, Spain, Germany, France, and Mexico.

Adam holds a BA in Creative Writing & Theatre Studies from Glasgow University and a MA in Art & Social Practice with Distinction from the University of the Highlands and Islands. His practice centers on community-based participatory art, interactive installation, text, digital/video/sound-based work, games and interventions. Notable work includes The Democracy Machine, now in the permanent collection of ZKM in Germany.

Adam is driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and believes deeply in bringing people together to effect change. His work often explores the intersections of art, civic life, and public imagination, developing equity-centered arts programming that invites creative thinking, imaginative play, and civic engagement. He is passionate about creating new forms of participatory art experiences that foster dialogue, discovery, and creative social action.

Currently serving as Program and Volunteer Coordinator at Caponi Art Park in Eagan, MN, Adam coordinates performances and events while managing artist relationships and volunteer programs.
