Original Song by Music Coordinator Dave Dvorak “Made of Sunshine”
Dave Dvorak says, “After Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent, her wife wrote a beautiful tribute in which she described Renee as being ‘made of sunshine.’ I wrote this tune with that theme in mind. Rest in power, Renee.”
Dave Dvorak is a physician and singer-songwriter who heads up the Americana-folk-rock band Zoë Says Go (www.zoesaysgo.com).
After practicing emergency medicine in the Twin Cities for 30 years, he now volunteers in a community medicine setting at NorthPoint Health & Wellness in North Minneapolis. He has also done overseas international medical volunteer work in Haiti, Honduras, Peru and a refugee camp on the Greek island of Samos.
Dave’s songwriting is inspired by the likes of Dylan, Springsteen and Paul Simon. His lyric-driven original songs weave socially conscious themes into tales of love, struggle and wonder—from faraway refugee camps and Spanish laundromats to the streets of the Twin Cities. His band’s albums “Space Between the Notes” and “Turn the Table” have both charted in the Top 100 of the US College Radio Charts.
Dave has played countless shows—both solo and with Zoë Says Go—at venues around the Twin Cities, including 7th Street Entry, Aster Cafe, 331 Club, Taste of Minnesota, and Loring Art Festival.
Dave is also the creator of the musical, “Just One Life”, a story of love and redemption centering around health care justice. The musical was staged at The Hive Collaborative in 2023, selling out all six performances.

Vicki Dischler – Music Bio (2025)
Vicki has been passionate about music since she started learning piano at the age of 5. She
picked up her first guitar in 1990, inspired by six months of sailing along the Turkish coast,
where acoustic music filled the ports each evening. Early influences like the Indigo Girls,
Melissa Etheridge, Leonard Cohen, and John Prine helped shape her musical foundation.
Over the years, Vicki has performed with a range of groups spanning Americana, rock, blues,
jazz, disco, and world beat. As a German instructor, she developed a college course where
students formed bands and performed annual public concerts to enhance language learning
through music.
Today, her musical inspiration draws from a broad spectrum of artists. With a love for interesting
melodies and for entertaining, she brings a unique acoustic twist to a variety of distinct-sounding songs and crowd pleasers.

Brenda Varda
Brenda Varda brings unusual (and sometimes usual) ideas to music and lyrics. Using jazz, americana, pop, and experimental forms, Varda loves to create compositions that take audience’s ears, soul, and mind to a different place. In jazz bands, cabaret, and solo shows, Varda performs, plays piano, and shapes her vocals and storytelling to reveal truths and elevate sound – sometimes through satire and sometimes just through intriguing melodies. She has been on stages all around the country, from New York to LA as a musician, singer, and actor – but right now, music outside the norm is her focus. Current songs? Gotta Find Another Home, (blues), Dividing Cells, If You Got A Whistle Blow It!, & Rhythm Undone. Two albums are up-and-coming in early 2026! One all satire and social commentary, and the other a collection of her jazz songs. She’s playing through the holidays around town, so watch for her stuff.
