ASL for Small Business Owners in the Art World Salon @ HQ

July 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Come learn basic ASL skills and small talk conversation on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 7 – 9 pm at ACW HQ.

The Twin Cities are a Deaf Hub because the states that touch us have very limited resources for the Deaf community.  If you haven’t already, you will encounter Deaf customers looking at your art/crafts.  Knowing the basics on how to interact with them and learning some basic small talk conversation will help you make sales or at least help our Deaf neighbors feel seen and appreciated.

This class will teach you how to appropriately interact with the Deaf community, teach you basic conversation, fingerspelling, numbers, and the vocabulary for making sales.  There will be props and role playing for learning tools along with paper handouts to study later.  No videotaping or pets allowed.  All needed materials will be provided.  Active participation is required!

Please contact Denise Lau with any questions and to RSVP at MNdreamArt@gmail.com so I know how many handouts to make and how many props to bring.  Thank you!
