Read about Elpis: For nearly 25 years, Elpis has been working with young people, 16-24, helping them develop skill sets for success in workforce development.
Located in St. Paul, Elpis collaborates with twenty government and non-profit agencies to match young people at risk of homelessness with Elpis programs. These programs – woodworking, screen printing, sewing and photography, teach basic skills. More importantly, Interns learn the soft skills so important is the workforce like showing up, conflict resolution and communication.
Each of these programs gives interns experience aligned with real work. The photography program teaches Interns that the most important resource isn’t the camera equipment but the vision each person uses to create an image.
After learning about photography basics of lighting, camera functions, Interns apply their knowledge taking photos at events, making product photos for the Elpis web site and conducting portrait sessions.
Elpis Enterprises would like to collaborate with Art to Change the World and build lasting relationships that open experiences and opportunities with both organizations and its communities. Would you be open to some constructive conversations?
