DESCRIPTION:Art to Change the World has been contracted to create a Maker Space (art room) in several venues\,  including several Transformational Housing for Women who have experienced homelessness and Youth Programs at the YMCA. Ten ACW Teaching Artists have been trained by a licensed counselor to create lessons which specially include strategies to reduce trauma. Participants will be experimenting with a variety of media including painting\, sculpture\, healing body adornment\, quilt painting\, henna applications\, polymer clay\, illustration\, fabric hat creations and printmaking. Lessons will be offered once a week. \nAll artists will be present at Haven Housing at 6 PM for a Healing Curriculum session with Sandra Reardon. SUMMARY:Call for Artists: Maker Space Project
DESCRIPTION:Call For Artists\nMaker Space Project\nArt to Change the World has been contacted to create a Maker Space (art room) in several venues\,  including Transformational Housing for Women who have experienced homelessness and youth programs at the YMCA. \nJoin this Project if you really want to demonstrate how Art Can Change the World! \nBasics:\n\n\nBe an active member of ACW (membership paid).\nParticipate in the organizing of onsite Makers Spaces.\nAttend a 2-hour orientation with a licensed trauma counselor.  You develop a lesson that helps reduce stress from trauma and earn a certificate.  No fees for this.\nYou will sell a work of art to each site from $100-$300 to be used to inspire and showcase the ACW teachers.\nTeach one class each month for two hours.  Compensation $200.  Supplies are paid for.  You create a supply list (up to $200).\nArtists interested in participating in this effort need to fill out the application below before July 15th.  Return to info@arttochangetheworld.org\n\n\nApplications will be reviewed by a jury of 3 and an initial 10 artists/teachers will be chosen to be a part of the Maker’s Space Project.\n\nLearn more and apply: https://www.arttochangetheworld.org/maker-space-project/
