DESCRIPTION:Flux Frost Fest with Art to Change the World (ACW)\nFlux Arts Building\, 2505 Howard St. NE\, Minneapolis\, MN/699 Lowry Ave NE (Same Building). \nCreate & Chill \nJoin us for a holiday art show & sale bursting with handmade gifts by over 15 Artists\, Craftspeople and Artisan Food Vendors. Enjoy live music\, holiday snacks and apple cider while you browse and mingle. \nThroughout the building you’ll find a festive array of clay ornaments\, jewelry\, art kits\, tiles\, glass ornaments\, chocolate and coffee. Potek Glass and Clay Squared will be holding sales during the event. The first 25 attendees will receive a complimentary gift handmade by Art to Change the World interns. \nActivities include Create & Chill art projects by Art to Change the World and make and take clay projects at Clay Squared Gallery. Please contact Mindy if you have anything to give  at mindyjohnson31@gmail.com \nFor more information about the event and how to participate as an active ACW artist\, visit the Art to Change the World website: https://www.arttochangetheworld.org/acw-holiday-event/ \nEventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/flux-frost-fest-tickets-1088238924919 \nArt to Change the World Artists\nLeo Fortune  Make and Take from 4:00-7:00  Guided Meditation Drawing \nLiisa Lê- Liisa Lê is a third-generation Finnish-American artist whose rich heritage has become a profound source of inspiration for her traditional oil and acrylic paintings of wetlands\, cranes or portraiture.\nMake and Take from 11:00-3:30.  Miniature paintings. \nLayl McDill – Layl McDill uses the ancient technique of millefiore to create mysterious polymer clay works of wonderment. \nKelly Frankenberg- Kelly Frankenberg brings a sense of unity and positivity to imagined or purposeful landscapes through her colorful works in a variety of media. \nMindy Johnson- Mindy Johnson is primarily a digital collage artist who combines disparate images to create new whimsical scenes inspired by fleeting moments and urban nature. \nLaura Burlis- Laura Burlis is a polymer clay artist who creates magical landscapes on switch plates\, and owl themed sculptures\, pens\, and notecards. \nBarbara Bridges– Barbara Bridges is a 40 year veteran teacher and professor and a sculptor who creates thought-provoking social practice art from fabricated components in a variety of media and rescued “power objects.” High end necklaces\, 12 step homages\, muneca dolls from Barra de Potosi. Small inspirational works. \nMusicians\nJerry Esnough – 1:00pm -1:30pm Jerry Esnough has been performing original and cover tunes since the 60s. His style has a traditional folk country flavor that is upbeat and positive! \nDave Dvorak – 3:30pm – 4:00pm\,  Dave Dvorak is a Minneapolis singer-songwriter who heads up the Americana-folk-rock band Zoë Says Go. Inspired by the likes of Dylan\, Springsteen and Paul Simon\, Dave’s lyric-driven original songs weave socially conscious themes into tales of love\, struggle and wonder—from faraway refugee camps and Spanish laundromats to the streets of the Twin Cities. \nMax Rewitzer –5:00pm – 5:30pm\, Max Rewitzer is a singer-songwriter originally from NE Minneapolis\, who plays mellow acoustic songs with catchy melodies and introspective lyrics reminiscent of Elliott Smith and Death Cab for Cutie \nEmmy Woods – 6:00pm – 6:30pm  Emmy Woods was born and raised on an old dirt road in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul. With hints of country\, folk\, and blues\, Emmy’s songs showcase both her knack for storytelling\, her strengths in musical artistry\, and an impressive vocal range and ability. When asked to describe her sound in three words\, Dr. Kyle Smith said\, “Queer Farm Vibes… or maybe… Sad Boy Progressive.” \nBook Reading Experience\nFrom 4-7pm\, at the start of every hour\, listen to the author and illustrator\, Leo Fortune\, read their guided meditation book that doubles as a children’s book for all our inner children. Winter Solstice (Dec 21) marks the darkest day of the year and the return of the light. Come celebrate all that has been growing in the darkness and is getting ready to bloom in the spring! There will be sheets to color based on the pictures in the book and a communal giant tree to draw/write your roots on – your intentions from this winter that will blossom in the coming months.
